The New Canyon SpectralON | Everything You Need to Know.

Canyon redesign the SpectralON from the ground up and now boasts, amongst other updates, a 900Wh battery for a claimed 97km range.

The new Canyon SpectralON gains a carbon rear triangle and a redesigned main frame aimed at increasing strength and decreasing weight. It has had the longer, lower, slacker treatment too but more as Canyon felt the original model might have been a touch conservative.

A full carbon frame has seen some updates to the construction and some features to improve reliability. A carbon rear triangle helps shed weight, despite gaining a seatstay bridge. Main pivots now run on 15mm axles for bigger bearings and longer life.

The headline with the SpectralON is the ability to run either a 720Wh battery or a monster 900Wh lump. Canyon claim that you can ride 97.2km with 2132m of elevation on the 900Wh battery. That’s some serious range. To try and not just add weight while adding range though, Canyon have rearranged the battery cells and motor layout to keep the power pack as compact as possible.

Five models make up the new SpectralON range, with the range-topping CFR Ltd at £10,499 (£10,249 for the size small with the 720Wh battery), with the pricing on the remaining three TBC. Only the top two models are currently available with bike scheduled for May.
