Marzocchi Launch the Bomber Air Shock.

Marzocchi have launched the Bomber CR, a piggyback air shock for everything from slopestyle to freeride machines with a funky, offset reservoir.

Key features:

  • Trunnion and standard eyelet options
  • Adjustable compression and rebound
  • All adjusters are tool-free
  • Compatible with FOX bearing mounts on both ends (excluding trunnion)
  • 484 grams (205×65)
  • Metric: 190×45, 210×50, 210×52.5, 210×55, 230×57.5, 230×60, 230×65, 250×75
  • Trunnion: 185×52.5, 185×55, 205×60, 205×62.5, 225×75

That this shock looks like a Fox DPX2 who’s piggyback reservoir has taken a big hit, shouldn’t be al that surprising seeing as Fox own Marzocchi. The main thinking behind the offset shock is to offer better access to the schraeder valve and the dials in frames that don’t offer too much clearance around the shock.

Beyond the wonky reservoir, you get adjustable compression and rebound. The compression dial doesn’t feature any idents or ‘clicks’, rather being like the turn dial like on the older GRIP fork dampers. Rebound is, however, indented.

If it’s anything like the performance of similar Fox shocks, the Bomber CR should be onto a winner. While the adjustment is minimal, they offer a large reservoir air shock for less than both the DPX2 and Float X shocks, even if the DPX2 has additional low speed compression adjustment.
