Combining their Phase ebike with their ‘less is more’ Evo geometry, has, unsurprisingly, created the new Orange Phase Evo.
160mm travel, mixed wheels, a mid-power motor and battery, Evo geometry and a sub-20kg weight makes the ingredients for the Orange Phase Evo look pretty tasty.
While the Orange Phase is a full fat, go anywhere, do anything machine, the latest Phase Evo takes the Phase concept and mixes it up. 160mm travel and MX wheels kick off the ‘less is more’ Evo concept, with head angles at 63 degrees for some serious descending.
Power is supplied by the 55Nm strong Bosch Performance Line SX motor, the first Orange to use this version of the Bosch motor. This is fuelled by a 400Wh Bosch battery with an optional 250Wh range extender. A Bosch Purion 200 computer keeps you in control of the output and navigation.
A revised lower shock mount gains a bearing eyelet to reduce breakaway force on the shock, making that opening portion of the travel buttery smooth for low speed tracking and grip. As ever, the frame is your classic Orange monocoque with an assymmetric swingarm. A new tapered headtube gets thrown into the mix as well as shorter seat tubes. The downtube also now boasts the SAFE storage box.
One model is currently available, the Phase Evo LE coming in at £7,999.00. The complete bike in a size large tips the scales at 19.5kg.
The Phase Evo is available in S, M, L and XL.
Reach in the M is 464mm with a seat tube of 431mm seat tube. Head angle is 63 degrees with a seat tube angle of 76 degrees. Chainstays are 448mm across the sizes with a wheelbase on the M of 1276mm.
