This week sees the 2024 UCI World Championships happening in Vallnord-Pal Arinsal, Andorra for all but the enduro event.
We’re rapidly closing in on the 2024 UCI World Championships, with everything but the EDR and EDR-E taking place in Andorra.
The BBC will be live streaming the Elite XCO and DHI events, with chat that there might be racing on Discovery+ and on YouTube as well. There’s currently no where or when the coverage will kick off, so we’ll keep you updated.
In the downhill, Charlie Hatton will be looking to defend the stripes he took in emphatic fashion in Fort William and get back to form in the latter part of the 2024 World Cup season. Vali Höll will be looking to add to her tally of two Elite and two Junior gold medals in Andorra whilst holding onto the title. Can the Kiwis claim another podium domination in the Junior Women with Erice van Leuven taking the stripes again? We’re guaranteed a new Junior Men’s champ as Henri Kiefer moved up to Elite this year.
After taking the Olympic titles in two very different fashions, can Pauline Ferrand-Prevot and Tom Pidcock do it again at the World Champs? Pauline will likely be racing her last XCO Worlds as she moves to road, and master of all trades Tom Pidcock is the man to beat. PFP and Sam Gaze will be defending their XCC titles too. There will be two new U23 World Champions crowned in Andorra as both Charlie Aldridge and Samara Maxwell have moved up to Elite.
