Specialized launched their latest Stumpjumper back in July and now they’ve released an alloy version with full cable routing.
One of the main irks of the new Specialized Stumpjumper 15, despite all its superlatives was it’s lack of support for mechanical drivetrains. The Stumpjumper 15 Alloy remedies that particular issue and comes at a far more attractive price point.
Three new Specialized Stumpjumper 15 models have been released with a new M5 alloy frame complete with a new SWAT box. The alloy Stumpjumper 16 retains the six-way geometry adjust of its more expensive carbon brethren. Replaceable links offer options for full 29er or in a Mullet configuration with sizes S1 and S2 coming stock as Mullets with S3 through S6 as full 29ers. The Stumpjumper 15 Alloy Fox Coil does not come in S1.
Beyond that, geometry and kinematic remains identical to the carbon fibre version but only the Comp Alloy version comes with a GENIE equipped shock. The base model comes with an X Fusion shock, and the Fox Coil, unsurprisingly, comes with a Fox DHX2.
Whilst it might lack GENIE, the new Stumpjumper 15 Alloy does come in at a very respectable £2750.00, with the Comp Alloy at £3750.00 and the Fox Coil at £5,000.00 on the dot. No frameset is available in the UK.
Geometry
The Stumpjumper 15 is available in sizes S1 through S6.
Reach on the S3 in mid headtube and high BB setting is 450mm with a seat tube of 405mm. Head angle is 64.5 degrees with a seat tube angle of 77 degrees. Chainstays are 435mm with a wheelbase of 1213mm.
