Goodyear’s Escape range offers plenty to anyone looking for a down-country to trail tyre that they can fine tune to suit their riding style. Two treads give options for faster rolling or more grip, two casings for less weight or protection, and three casings for the speed and protection that works for you.
The Escape Inter is all about rolling speed. The centre tread features ramped, tightly spaced 4/3 blocks, combined with intermediate blocks to help transition to the aggressive shoulder that have sipes for cornering grip. The Escape Max is all about aggressive trail riding with a 3/2/2 pattern leaning into similar shoulders to the Inter.
Both tyres are available in both Trail Lite and Trail Plus casings but differ in compound options. A 60tpi construction is shared by both tyres but the Trail Plus comes with extra sidewall protection. The Max is available in both the DynamicGrip rubber, while the Inter comes in Dynamic UHP or DynamicGrip2.
Weights start at 820g for the Escape Inter Trail Lite Dynamic UHP, rising to 1025g for the Escape Max Trail Plus DynamicGrip3. Pricing is from £60.00 to £65.00 depending on casing, compound and tread.
