We all know Lenzerheide for its World Cup downhill and cross-country racing antics, but there’s so much more to the Swiss resort than just Elite-level competition.
Whether it’s the pinnacle of racing, kids racing and everything in between, Lenzerheide has got you covered this summer.
The Bike Kingdom is once again set to become the epicenter of mountain biking this summer. With a packed calendar featuring everything from progressive team formats to elite-level racing, the region will be buzzing with gravity, enduro, and trail action. At the heart of the season are two standout events, the Bike Kingdom Hunt Arosa, a flagship summer format known for its blend of strategy and singletrack, and the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide, which draws the sport’s top-tier athletes to the Swiss Alps.
Tactical Racing Meets Trail Adventure: Bike Kingdom Hunt Arosa
From 11-13 July, the region’s alpine trails will host the Bike Kingdom Hunt Arosa, a format that fuses enduro racing with a creative scavenger hunt concept. Competing in teams of two or three, riders set out to hunt down checkpoints across some of the region’s best single tracks. Success hinges not just on speed, but on terrain reading, route strategy, and seamless teamwork. With no fixed stage order and route freedom, each team builds its own race line through technical features and cleverly placed challenges. The event offers both intermediate and advanced categories and is open to riders on either e-MTBs or muscle-powered bikes. The Hunt has established itself as one of the most dynamic and rider-loved events in the Alpine MTB calendar.
World Cup Vibes Return to Lenzerheide
From 19-21 September, in exactly 100 days, the global MTB spotlight shifts to Lenzerheide for the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, returning after a one-year break. Under the banner “Let’s Celebrate”, the event will host rounds in Cross-Country Short Track (XCC), Cross-Country Olympic (XCO), and Downhill (DHI). Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Bündner Alps, the technically demanding courses will once again push the limits of the world’s top racers.
In 2023, Nino Schurter and Loana Lecomte claimed victories in XC, while Rachel Atherton and Jordan Williams topped the podium in downhill. With the World Cup scheduled late in the season this year, Lenzerheide could play a pivotal role in shaping the overall standings. Emotional moments are expected as local hero and MTB legend Nino Schurter lines up for what is likely to be his final home World Cup appearance.
Beyond the racing, the Lenzerheide stop has earned a reputation as one of the most atmospheric events on the circuit – equal parts elite sport and full-blown MTB festival. Crowds line the tracks, the village transforms into a celebration zone, and the stoke level remains high all weekend long. Further info and tickets available at www.mtbworldcup.ch/en.
