The Lake Placid downhill track builders at Whiteface find themselves in a spot of bother having not got permissions to build, with the report revealing the latest princely host fees.
The Adirondack Explorer reported that ORDA (Olympic Regional Development Authority) has dismissed the regulations required to build the new downhill track at Whiteface as part of the Lake Placid World Cup.
Whilst the hosts are working to rectify this, they face heat from the DEC (Department of Environmental Conservation), including fines as well as a cease and desist order.
Beyond this, the report revealed that the venue paid $420,000 per year for three years ($1.26m total. Quick maths) to host the World Cup. XE.com today puts that at £314,582.65 (£943,747.95 total). We’d love to see the breakdown of costs on this. That is a imperial f*ck tonne of cash.
