Designed as both a World Cup downhill and enduro machine, the Orbea Rallon has gained mid-support from a 40Nm TQ motor with all the other systems integrated.
Motor, battery, shifting and dropper post will be linked into the same system with the new Orbea Rallon RS, powered by a TQ motor and fed by a 290Wh battery.
The genesis of the Orbea Rallon RS is more obvious when you look at the path the Basque brand took to get a downhill bike to the World Cups. Martin Maes started with a modified Wild ebike, with the production Rallon following a similar silouette.
Surely it was only a matter of time before the question was asked, can we turn it into an ebike? The answer, very yes. Hidden away in the otherwise unchanged Rallon frame is a TQ motor putting out 40Nm and a 290Wh battery. Retained is the adjustable geometry and the rear triangles specific to the wheel size you wish to run.
With the saddle dropped, the suspension opens and remains open and the motor reduces in output to avoid spitting you off the bike. The controls of all three systems and controllable via the switch on the bars. A Fox eNEO Live Valve shock, Orbea’s MC10-RS dropper and the TQ motor all work together to get the best of every trail.
Two models will be available, the Rallon RS Ltd and the Rallon RS Team, at £12,999.00 and £9,999.00.
Geometry
The Orbea Rallon is available in S, M, L and XL sizes.
Reach on the M is 455mm with a seat tube of 405mm. Head angle is 64.25 degrees with a seat tube angle of 74.6 degrees. Chainstays are 455mm with a wheelbase of 1242.3mm
