The 14th June 2026 will stand out for one very good reason, that being that the downhill event will see the Elite Women closing the show.
Round 3 of the 2026 UCI Downhill World Cup will see Elite Women as the last to take to the course in the downhill event. In an already massive weekend including downhill, enduro, cross country short track and Olympic, the Elite Women will stand out as they close out the downhill event for the first time.
According to WBD, this move aims to improve “visibility, recognition and parity for women’s racing at the highest level”.
In theory, this will only change the schedule that will, hopefully, leave the Elite Women in he spotlight on a Saturday afternoon. The streams for Elite Men and Women are separate anyway, so this again doesn’t affect anyone watching from home all that much. It is also for one single round, not the series for anyone getting their Y-fronts in a bunch.
