At £1200 for the frame with a Vivid rear shock is the Identiti Mogul the best value budget downhill bike on the market..?
The Mogul just landed at Wideopenmag HQ today thanks to Ison Distribution and it looks pretty damn good. A solid build, a frame that looks far more pricier than it actually is, a plush Vivid rear shock … It’s hard to spot that the Mogul is a “budget” bike.
Ok – the build you see here puts the total cost around the £3k mark but at just £1200 for the frame we can see some really solid and still really rideable bikes being built up around the Mogul for less than £2,000.
We’re looking forward to giving this one a thrashing to see whether the ride outweighs the price. The numbers are sensible and despite offering a “UK friendly” 7.5″ of rear travel the Mogul still sports a very normal 64degree head angle, shortish-without-being-silly wheelbase (1138.4mm on our medium) and shortish-without-being-silly top tube length (523.8mm/597mm effective on our medium). Sure at 2.9KG for the small it’s not the lightest bike in the world, but certainly not the heaviest.
