Fresh out of the Intense Cycles stable is the all-new Primer. Short travel 29ers seem to be all the rage these days, with many of the Enduro World Series riders moving to 29ers of the same travel or less travel as their smaller-wheeled bikes.
We all know 29ers are quick, especially when things open out and the pace really starts to rise. They do require a different riding style to any smaller-wheeled offering, but you can’t deny the speed. 29ers can feel slow as they smooth the trail feedback out, meaning you have to turn the throttle more to get the same feeling.
Intense have launched another full-carbon bike in the form of the Primer. A 4.5-5″ travel 29er trail bike for ‘the big wheeled, trail enthusiast.’

Here’s the chat from Intense:
Designed for the big-wheel trail rider, the Primer 29 boasts aggressive trail geometry and adjustable 115mm – 130mm of rear wheel travel on an extra-wide “boost 148” rear end. The carbon frame construction, combined with JS Tuned suspension technology provides an exceptionally stiff yet comfortable ride that is light and nimble. The bike is race-ready and features internal cable routing, 160mm post mounts and protective flak guards as standard amenities.
