News just in – Round 4 of the British Downhill Series has been cancelled.
The race was due to go ahead at Moelfre on the 30/31st July 2017.
Bad news for downhill fans as round 4 of the British Downhill Series, due to be held at Moelfre, has been cancelled.
British Downhill Series front man Si Paton made the announcement today citing a shortage of entries for the cancellation.
With approx 150 riders entered Si told us that the numbers were too low to run the race without loosing money and that he would need over 200 riders in order to proceed. The cancellation comes after three well attended events, with 270 competing at Rhyd y Felin.
Whilst races have been called off due to bad weather, this is the first time in the British Downhill Series’ history where an event has pulled due to low entries.
At present, the numbers are equally low for the next two British Downhill Series events – with around 150 booked in for rounds five and six.
The cancelation won’t effect the British 4x series events that are being held at Moelfre during the weekend.
