With Danny Hart off to Saracen, rumours were rife about who would fill his boots. The Bulldog and Mike Jones join Laurie Greendland for one wild line-up.
Could this be the most exciting team announcement yet? We’re stoked to see three loose pinners leading the charge for the MS Mondraker team for 2018 and beyond.
Laurie Greenland, a former Team Wideopenmag alumni, stepped up to Elite with MS Mondraker, with his famed run down Val di Sole at the World Championships in 2016. Hopefully we’ll see the young kid from Bristol light it up like that again at a few more World Cups in 2018.
MS Mondraker is where Brook MacDonald got his first ever, and only, World Cup win, way back in the French Alpine resort of Val d’Isere in 2012. We’re big fans of The Bulldog here at Wideopenmag, and we’re looking forward to seeing a return to form from the Kiwi this year, back where his career really took off.
More recently, with CRC Mavic turning their attentions to enduro, Mike Jones was left without a ride. The man is definitely one who lets the riding do the talking, especially with podiums at the Lourdes World Cup in 2015 and at Mont Saint Anne last year proves the man has the speed when everything comes together.
This team announcement also coincides with Mondraker being involved in World Cup downhill for a decade, and supporting the MS team for a whopping 7 years. Major props to Mondraker for supporting racing at the sharp end.
