In an effort to meet demand for his frames, Joe McEwan of Starling Cycles hand-picked ORA, Taiwan’s steel specialist, to build his Murmur Factory Edition.
All is not lost for those wanting a one-off Starling built by the man himself though. Joe’s order book is open and the Factory Edition Murmur will satisfy those who want Starling’s signature ride, without the premium associated with it being hand-built in the UK.
The Factory Edition Murmur will be available as a frame-only, starting at £1,850 with a Rockshox Deluxe shock and all pre-orders will receive a Hope headset and seat clamp.
Orders paid in full at pre-order will also receive a Burgtec control kit. Other Rockshox, DVO and Fox shocks are available, check the website for full pricing.
Rolling chassis Murmurs will also be available build kits with components from Rockshox, DVO, Fox, SRAM, Hope, Burgtec, Middleburn and Maxxis.
Frames will be available in Primer Grey with black graphics as standard or in a choice of custom colours for an extra cost.
Who are ORA you might ask? Well, ORA are a steel specialist in Tiachung, Taiwan. ORA have expert frame builders from decades of experience in fabricating steel mountain bike frames.
Pre-orders for the Murmur Factory Edition are now being taken, with deliveries expected in August of this year. Anyone looking for a frame built by Joe himself should get in touch to discuss whether you’re after a stock frame or something a little more special.
