Today’s National Downhill Championships at Glencoe saw a changing of the guard with a whole host of new Champs and two new elite champions.
The female elite race was won by Katy Curd, taking her first national downhill title.
The men’s race was a super competitive field with Laurie Greenland, Danny Hart, Adam Brayton, Matt Walker and defending champ Greg Williamson battling for the win.
Danny Hart came down early in field following a crash in seeding and took the hotseat but wasn’t sure his run would stick.
Danny went fast enough for second place but couldn’t hold off team mate Matt Walker who took his first senior National Championship title.
In the men’s junior field, the title went to Kade Edwards.
Juvenile was won by Jordan Williams.
The Youth field was won by Luke Williamson.
Junior Women went to Rosy Monaghan.
Masters went to Nick Platt with 35-39 Master’s men won by Alan Blyth – Nick won the National Title.
Veterans was won by Mark Weightman.
Senior non-champs was won by Jason Gillespie.
Senior women was won by Micayla Parton.
Master Women was Rebecca Smith.
Veterans 40-44 went to Will Longden, Grand Veterans was Pete Little – with Pete taking the National title.
Open Men went to Liam Higgins.
