The last in line of the Cotic full suspension bikes to be run through the Longshot mill is the Flare, the blend between the Rocket’s suspension and the Soul’s tubeset.
For those short-travel 27.5″ steel enthusiasts, the Cotic Flare might well be the holy grail. Updated Longshot geometry brings the Flare up to date with it’s bigger and smaller brothers.

Sporting 27.5″ wheels with with clearance for 2.6″ wide tyres, the Flare has 125mm rear travel and 140mm front. The Flare shares the DNA of the Rocket enduro bike with the feel of the Soul hardtail to create a lively trail bike, and a brilliant all rounder.
Longshot geometry is designed to give you confidence and keep things calm when the trail starts to get a bit hectic. Where the Flare is designed to excel is in tight, close-quarters trail work. Wiggly singletrack, rooty tech, trialsy manoeuvres. The Flare is a technical trail tearaway.
More sprightly than the MAX 29er bikes, with more compact dimensions than the enduro focused Rocket.
As a Droplink bike, the Flare shares all of the clever features Cotic include across the range including the integrated One Up top guide and double duty seatstay pivot / brake bolt.
Like the RocketMAX, the Flare front triangle is made from Reynolds 853 tubing right here in the UK by Five Land Bikes, where the Cotic complete frames are also finished.
Frame pricing starts at £1749 with a Hope seatclamp, delivery and the X-Fusion O2 RCX shock. DB Air IL is available for £1999.
