Take a Closer Look at Sam Hill’s Custom Nukeproof Mega 290.

Sam Hill rocked a 29er for the first time in the form of a Nukeproof Mega 290 at the third round of the Enduro World Series.

Sam Hill landed an uncharacteristic fifth place in the dry, dusty conditions of Madeira, but it was all change on the bike front as Sam opted to rock his custom Nukeproof Mega 290 and run a 29er for the first time at an Enduro World Series. Will we see Sam back on dominant form as the series heads to the Italian Dolomites and a first visit to Val di Fassa?

The downhill and enduro legend has been vocal against 29″ wheels in the past but the third round of the 2019 Enduro World Series would see the man from Perth, Australia rocking a Mega 290 painted in honour of his favourite MX rider from back in the day.

Sam would make some minor spec changes from his Mega 275c, in the form of a 150mm Rockshox Reverb ASX, but interestingly, ran a conventional cable shifter. He’d also opt for a longer crank on this bike, a 170mm set instead of the usual 165mm SRAM numbers.
