Despite lockdown restrictions easing and bike parks opening up in England and Wales, Gawton Gravity Hub will remain closed to invest in its trail network.
Announced on social media, the team at Gawton Gravity Hub will spend the next six weeks and a hefty amount of money revamping their trails.

Important update peeps
As you all know the harvesting works at Gawton are now complete, the tracks have almost been cleared by some bloody awesome volunteers BUT we’re not going to reopen yet and here’s why!
The tracks need some love and a fair bit too.
We’re going to be spending £10,000 on them to improve and repair where needed.
Supertavi:
1) The third fire road crossing sorted well moved actually
2) The rocky corner just below the third crossing is getting a reshape.
3) The switchback berms are getting dug down and reshaped, this will have to be done by hand and will require volunteers and organised dig days adhering to social distancing guidelines of course.
4) Reshape the start section and first fire road crossing to make the gap faster and less of a parachute drop
5) Move the track between the fire road gap landing and the entrance to Megatavi.

Proper Job:
The second fire road crossing is being moved and made faster. This will also reduce maintenance on the berm surface as it won’t be there
HSD:
1) Reshape the track between fire road crossings 1&2.
2) Completely move the track starting in the middle of the section between fire roads 2&3 rejoining the original line at the big table top.
3) Completely move the track after the table top until it rejoins the right turn down to the next fire road.
Megatavi:
1) Improve the entrance in from Supertavi possibly with a small drop.
2) The line after the northshore is being moved to make it longer and give a better link into Supertavi as the existing line is wearing a berm out on Supertavi.
Works will hopefully be commencing next week and will take approximately 6 weeks.
If time permits there will be additional works done to other tracks too. These will be decided as we progress.
Once this has all been done we will be having an official open day for all members.
Cheers gang, Chaz and the rest of the team who volunteer to run the club.
