Specialized Launch Limited Edition Artist Series Chisel Frames.

The Specialized Chisel frame is to come in a limited edition element-inspired Artist Series with Air and Earth launching first.

If you’ve ever wanted an alloy race hardtail that you’d be terrified to crash, scratch or put anywhere near abrasive surfaces, then Specialized have you covered. Their new element-inspired Artist Series kicks off with four special edition Chisel frames.

The first in the Chisel limited edition Artist Series is Earth. If you fancy something you more than likely won’t see another of out on the trails, then this might well be it. Specialized’s Chisel is the alloy counterpart to their Epic hardtail and the Earth paint job looks more like a sunrise or sunset with the sun just beyond the horizon.

According to Specialized:

“The subdued colors on the Earth frame are inspired by the ceramic-like tones and textures of the desert landscape interrupted with a digital glitch effect, creating a gap in the information. The glitch appears on areas of the seatstay and the collage photography of the seat tube.”

The Air edition of the Chisel certainly seems a bit more camo-inspired than the Earth offering, and would likely look pretty neat all murdered-out in black.

Specialized offer their inspiration for the Air edition Chisel:

“The luminous wash on the Air frame symbolizes the fog rolling over the hills off the Pacific colliding with Silicon Valley. Just as the fog envelopes you in the natural world, the digital world can also envelope you in its technicolour infinity, which is represented in the colorful and glitch-filled logos.”
