Coming in a full £650 lighter on the wallet and only 120g heavier than the Control SL wheelset, the Specialized Roval Control Carbon 6B offers plenty of light weight carbon performance at a less eye-watering price. You get the same carbon rim construction but rather than the DT Swiss 240 internals like on the pricier offerings, these come laced to DT’s new 350 hub.
Sporting a 29mm internal width designed to run with 2.3-2.5″ tyres, you also get a 4mm rims bead width to protect against pinchflats. The broader bead aiming to spread the load of the impact on the tyre out over a larger area.
