Open MTB have taken to social media to announce that after six years of being the champions for MTB access, they will be shutting up shop.
Citing the glacial pace of uptake from government institutions following landmark campaigns like Trails4Wales, Open MTB have decided to hang up their boots rather than continue to dedicate their time and resources to equitable access for mountain bikers.
Mountain bikers now have to turn to trail associations to get their voices heard but many parts of the country don’t have one, and there now lacks a centralised voice for mountain bikers when it comes to championing for access.
