The New Santa Cruz Nomad | Everything You Need to Know.

The new Santa Cruz Nomad Gen. 6 gets the Mullet wheel treatment whilst still sporting the usual 170mm travel at both ends.

Rather than a clean sheet design, the sixth generation Santa Cruz Nomad gets business at the front and party at the back, a lunchbox and some tweaked expenders.

Six generations get the Santa Cruz Nomad to where it is today. The silhouette remains the same with the lower link-driven shock, 170mm travel on tap, but the long travel beast gets the Mullet wheel setup.

On the linkage side of things, anti-squat has been reduced, aiming to reduce the pedal kick experienced on square-edged hits, sensitivity across the curve has been tweaked to improve grip too. A lower ratio at the start of the travel also means the geometry stays closer to consistent through bodyweight shifts, or that’s the idea, at least. Overall lowering of progression aims to improve tracking at all points in the travel.

Naturally, the new Nomad gets the Glovebox for your sausages and comes with a tool roll for stowing your… well… tools.

Chainstay lengths and seat tube angles are size specific, with them getting longer and steeper respectively as you go up the sizes. Frame stiffness is also tweaked for frame size.

Six complete bikes are available, four Carbon C and two carbon CC, starting with the C R at £5,499.00, climbing to the CC XO1 AXS RSV at £9,699.00. Models from the Nomad Carbon C GX AXS and up come with a coil and air shock option.

Geometry

As ever, the Santa Cruz Nomad sports a flip chip. All figures are for the size Medium in the Lo setting.

Reach on the Medium is 452.3mm with a seat tube of 405mm. Head angle is 63.5 degrees, with a seat tube angle of 77.2 degrees. Chainstays are 440.8mm on a wheelbase of 1240mm.
