First spotted at the Fort William World Cup last year under Ronan Dunne, Nukeproof’s Dissent Carbon is finally here for us mortals.
Having already taken World Cup and Crankworx podiums during the testing phase, the Nukeproof Dissent Carbon has been released into the wild.
More than just a carbon fibre iteration of the ever popular Nukeproof Dissent, the Dissent Carbon adds some tweaks into the mix for more adjustibility in terms of wheel size and geometry.
The beginnings of the Dissent Carbon was a desire to reduce the overall weight, and with a 430g weight reduction over the alloy frame, that has certainly been achieved. Carbon fibre also allows stiffness and compliance to be built in where it’s needed for a better ride feel.
Available in either 290 (29″) or 297 (Mullet) in the same frame, with a flip chip keeping the geometry and kinematic static regardless of rear wheel size chosen. There’s also a three position flip chip that’s easier to adjust compared to the outgoing 4-position offering that offers adjustable progression to the 200mm travel.
Details count, and the frame is fully internally routed, has integrated fork bump stops and 3D contoured frame protection, as well as a full clear protection wrap.
Two models and a frame-only are available. The Nukeproof Dissent Carbon RS and Comp, at £5,999.99 and £4,499.99 respectively. The frame-only kit comes with a Rockshox Deluxe Ultimate shock, headset, rear axle, and a clear protection kit at £2,999.99.
Geometry
Three frame sizes are on offer, the NP1, 2 and 3. Each comes with an adjustable reach headset, with -6mm, 0mm or +6mm increments, with the chainstays being similarly adjustable in 5mm increments, from 0 to plus or minus 5mm.
Reach on the NP2 with the headset in 0mm is 465mm. Head angle is 63 degrees. Chainstays with the flip chip in 0mm are 445mm with the wheelbase at 1273mm.
