The New Marin Rift Zone E | Everything You Need to Know.

Marin Bikes’ trail slayer, the Rift Zone, now comes with a little extra help thanks to Shimano STEPS EP6 and EP801 motors.

Based around a similar Series 4 MultiTrac alloy frame as the Rift Zone, the Rift Zone E bumps rear travel to 140mm and comes with Shimano motors throughout.

With the Rift Zone getting a refresh last year to make it an ever more capable trail bike, Marin have added the Nifty Rifty to their ebike line up, with travel on the rear increasing by 10mm and power provided by Shimano EP801 and EP6 motors depending on model. Battery size is also model dependent but there’s room for a 630Wh battery in there.

Travel is now balanced at 140mm front and rear on the Rift Zone E, and the ebike version of Marin’s veteran trail bike gets the same tweaks that came with the non-assisted Rift Zone. Like the Alpine E, all bikes use the same frame. The E1 and E2 come with the larger 630Wh battery, while the base model E comes with a 530Wh unit.

Unlike the Rift Zone which came in 29″, 27.5″ and Junior options, the Rift Zone E is available in 29″ wheel versions only. All bikes come fitted with CushCore inserts and with tyres set up tubeless as standard.

OneUp Components Leaderboard 2024

The Rift Zone E range is three bikes strong, kicking off with the Rift Zone E at £4,355.00, rising to the Rift Zone E2 seen here at £5,895.00 RRP.
