The Orange MsIle is back ladies and gentlemen, still a UK-made hardtail but sporting the motor and battery of its full suspension brethren.
Orange have today launched two UK-made hardtails, reprising the MsIle as an ebike and its un-motorised counterpart, the Switch Factory.
Orange MsIle AXS

Key features:
- RockShox Lyrik Ultimate 150mm fork
- SRAM GX AXS Eagle 12-speed drive
- Shimano EP801 motor
- Shimano 630Wh battery
- SRAM Guide RE brakes
- Stans Flow Mk4 rims on Hope Pro 4 hubs
- Rockshox Reverb AXS dropper
- ÂŁ8,500.00 RRP
The new Orange MsIle sees the legendary name return with a little bit of help from a motor, but also features a new dropout that takes the UDH hanger and offers the ability to upgrade to the SRAM direct mount drivetrains.
This new bike runs on Mullet wheels, and is helped forward by a Shimano EP801 motor, with a quick change 630Wh battery, held in place by a 4mm Allen bolt. Geometry is designed around the fitted 150mm fork.
This launch model comes with a Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate; SRAM GX AXS drive, Guide RE brakes and an AXS Reverb. Wheels are Stans Flow on Hope Pro4s. The Shimano EP801 motor is fed by a 630Wh battery.
MsIles comes in S, M, L and XL sizes, with reach on the M coming in at 455mm with a 431mm seat tube. Head angle is 64 degrees with a seat tube angle of 75 degrees. Chainstays are 426mm across the sizes with the wheelbase on the M of 1224mm.
Orange Switch Factory

Key features:
- Fox Factory 36 Float 150mm fork
- Shimano XT 12-speed drive
- Shimano XT 4-piston brakes
- Stans Flow Mk4 rims on Hope Pro 4 hubs
- Fox Factory Transfer dropper
- ÂŁ4,700.00 RRP
The MsIle’s non-motorised counterpart is also UK-made but comes fitted out with a Fox/Shimano outfit rather than a SRAM one. The Mullet wheels remain however. You get the same revised dropout to take the UDH hanger too.
Spec for this bike is Fox Factory-heavy, with a 36 fork and Transfer dropper. Shimano XT 12-speed drive and 4-pot brakes dealing with the forward and stopping duties. Wheels are the same Stans/Hope affairs as the MsIle.
S, M, L and XL sizes are on offer, again, much like the MsIle although the sizes have their seat tubes bumped down a size. Reach on the M is 455mm with a shorter 406mm seat tube. Head angle and seat tube angle are 64 and 75 respectively. Chainstays are 426mm on a 1224mm wheelbase.
