Mike Jones to Lead Out Five-Rider Sterlands Mondraker Racing.

Sterlands Mondraker Racing have launched a five rider team to take on the 2024 British National Downhill Series and beyond.

Sterlands Cycle Service and Mondraker UK team up to field a five strong team to take on the UK downhill scene in 2024.

Sterlands Cycle Service and Mondraker UK are proud to announce the creation of ‘Sterlands Mondraker Racing’, a UK focused downhill mountain bike racing team, which aims to support some of the UK’s fastest racers and up and coming talents as they compete and aim to progress to the highest level of the sport.

Ready to make its mark on the UK downhill scene, the team brings together Bristol’s premier bicycle service centre and shop, along with Spanish performance bicycle brand Mondraker, creating a team poised to make its mark on the UK National downhill series and beyond.

Comprising of 5 riders, the team is focused on UK racing and has a strong passion for the sport at its core. Boasting some of the most talented UK riders and backed by World Cup experienced mechanics the team is supported by premium brands and is to be a dynamic force on the circuit this season.

“We’re thrilled to announce the team for 2024” said World Cup mechanic and team owner Mark Sterland. “The line-up of riders is amazing and we’ve some great talent onboard for the season. It’s great to have Mondraker on board supporting us and sharing our passion for the sport and UK racing.”

The line-up of racers is one of the key strengths of the team with the whole team, including support staff looking forward to going testing and racing very soon.


Mike Jones – Elite

Leading the team line-up is former World Cup racer and elite rider, Mike Jones. Known for his style and speed, Mike brings bags of race experience and world cup level skills to the team.

Mary Lynes – Elite

New to the sport and at the start of her racing journey, Mary has quickly picked it up and is up to speed ready to build on last year when she took her first National DH senior race win.

Ollie Sinden – Junior

With an eye on racing World Cup and become a full-time professional rider one day, Ollie is a rider to watch. He started riding at Chicksands before moving to the Forest of Dean where he quickly took up racing downhill.

Sam Hatfield – Junior

Ultra-fast racer Sam is part of British Cycling’s Youth Development program and comes off the back of two National DH wins in 2023 and a second-place overall finish.

Jacob Cox – Junior

Jacob has only owned a downhill bike for just over a year but is already keen to get more racing under his belt.

“We’re really happy to be supporting Sterland’s with their new team this and working with them this season”, said Mondraker UK Marketing Manager Pete Drew. “We love racing and share the same passion for the sport as the whole team, so are looking forward to the season already”.

The team will be heading to the races onboard Mondraker Summum Carbon DH bikes which bring years of World Cup level racing performance and a high-level of pedigree developed over decades of racing at the highest level.
