After a long winter, the Schwalbe British 4X Series is back at Chicksands Bike Park in Bedfordshire. On April 6th and 7th, Chicksands will host rounds 1 and 2 of the 2024 series.

The godfather of Britsh 4X, Scott Beaumont has taken over the organisaton of the Schwalbe Britsh 4X Series and this will be his first event as an organiser of the British Cycling Natonal Series. If the build up is anything to go by, we are extremely excited to see the racing this weekend.

There are quite a few changes to the series for 2024. Firstly there will be 5 weekends of racing with 2 rounds on each weekend. We want riders to get more bike time and more racing every weekend. So in tune with BMX Na4tnals we have moved to 5 weekends of racing.

Then the big news is the series will now operate using Sqorz. The Timing system used by BMX events worldwide is now coming to mountain biking. In 2024 riders will not require transponders but will benefit from all the features of Sqorz on your mobile phone. Motos, knockout rounds and series points will now all be instantly accessible on your mobile phone.

In the female categories there are new age groups with 7-9, 10-12, 13-16, 17-29 and 30+. For those who want to race without a British Cycling licence, there is also the 7-9, 10-12, 13-16 and 17+ classes.

The series has attracted a host of new sponsors and without them the series simply would not happen. A huge thank you to our continued title sponsor Schwalbe. Joining them this year as series partners are: Ultimate, Motul, DMR, Surf & Turf, Bikestow, Sqorz and ENV. British Cycling also continue to support the series and we thank them for all their support.

The track at Chicksands will be in prime condition for the race as Chicksands and the British 4X Series crew prepare it ahead of the race. The layout has not changed much over the years but with good reason. It produces close action in every single race. The ‘S’ bend corners mid-way down the track always provide the drama and for round 2 we have plans for a new section of track.

Riders can save money by pre entering now for Round One and Round Two.

Spectating is free and there will be several trade stands in attendance with the latest products for sale.
