It’s been a long time coming, but finally the M1 is almost here. Pre-orders are now being taken. There are a limited numbers of frames in this first drop, so don’t delay. We won’t be getting any more for a good few months.

The new Intense M1 has 202mm (linear) / 212mm (progressive) of rear travel, 279 mixed wheels, and is built around a 6-link, high-pivot, 6061-T6 aluminum frame. The M1 is a race-proven winner. Designed, developed, and perfected by our engineers and the INTENSE Factory Racing team on the World Cup circuit to be the fastest downhill bike.

6-Link

During the initial development stages, the 6-link high pivot design allowed us to isolate, adjust, and customize every element of the M1’s ride characteristics. Our goal was to design a bike that would excel in all DH conditions on any track and honor the name and racing pedigree of our original M1 frames, which we produced in the 1990s. With the new M1, we’ve created a bike that can smash through the roughest terrain, generate speed, accelerate efficiently when pedaling, and stay active under braking.

High Pivot

High-pivot bikes, especially in downhill applications, have proven that they can deliver amazing performance with great race results. The slightly rearward axle path of the M1 moves the rear wheel out of the way of trail obstacles, helping to maintain the bike’s speed, momentum, and handling. The position of the high-pivot idler reduces the effects of chain growth, eliminating pedal kickback, further enhancing suspension and pedaling performance.

Precision Shock Tuning

The Fox Float X2 Air Shock combines an ultra-plush, coil-like feel with incredible damping prowess optimized for downhill. It offers precision tuning with 4-way high/low-speed compression and rebound damping adjustability. In addition to precise damping control, the oversized air chamber provides a more linear, planted ride, and a bottom-out bumper ensures end-stroke progression.

Ultimate Setup

The M1’s 6-Link suspension design has two shock mount positions, allowing you to choose between a Linear (202mm travel) or Progressive (212mm travel) setting. The 56/56 headtube, with a 63º head angle, allows you to run a 0-10mm reach adjustment headset. These adjustments mean that you can set the bike up to suit your riding style, personal preferences, and track conditions.

A Mechanic’s Dream

We listened to the needs of our race mechanics, they wanted a bike that was easy to work on. The M1 features externally mounted cables, all frame hardware (aside from one collet bolt) uses a 6mm Hex wrench, with torque values printed on each bolt. There are just three ‘captured’ washers in the linkage hardware, meaning that they stay in place. Top quality Enduro Bearings in all linkage applications, and a durable and universal threaded BB.
