Canadian outfit OneUp Components have done it again. Their V3 dropper launched earlier in the year yet again set the standard for dropper performance, and now they’ve launched their hubs that are light, simple and high performance.
The new OneUp hubs beat the competition for both price and weight, coming in lighter and far cheaper than the likes of the DT Swiss 240 and 350, Hope’s Pro 5 and the i9 Hydra hubsets. By reducing component parts, not only do the hubs become more reliable but they also become lighter.
A 7075 alloy shell houses an integrated drive ring and standard size Enduro steel bearings. The bearings are as far outboard as they can be to reduce side load and wear, further improving bearing life. They’re also designed to be as easy as possible to remove when they do finally go rough.

The ratchet is similar in design to the venerable DT Swiss 350, with a double ratchet mechanism with a 44t (8.2 degree) engagement balancing performance, value and reliability. Hub flanges are also as far outboard as possible to improve wheel strength and stiffness for the J-bend spokes.
To the delight of wheel builders everywhere, the wheel build specs are laser etched onto the hub shell. Freehubs are sold separately to the rear hubs to improve bike shop owners’ hairlines. Freehubs and end caps are tool-free for both installation and removal. All small parts are available direct from OneUp, this includes all ratchets, bearings, seals, freehubs and small parts.
Keep your eyes peeled for a review of the OneUp Components hubs in the very near future.
