Trek Factory Racing XC’s Swiss superstar Jolanda Neff will not be on the start line to defend her Olympic title in Paris with Sina Frei called up.
Following extensive testing in the aftermath of the Nove Mesto round of this year’s UCI XCO World Cup, it was discovered that Jolanda Neff’s vocal chords stick together, causing air to not reach her lungs.
As a result, the Swiss Olympic champion has opted to duck out of the Paris Olympics despite having qualified for the Swiss team, with the also very fast Sina Frei stepping in to the team.
Hopefully we’ll see Jolanda Neff back with a vengeance in the block of World Cups after the Olympics have been and gone.
