Cotic Go Electric with the New Rocket EBike.

The new Cotic Rocket is likely the first production steel ebike, with a frame made entirely in the UK thanks to Cotic’s UK partners.

Cotic’s first production ebike is a UK-made, Mullet-wheeled, 150mm travel, 418Wh battery, Shimano EP801 motored machine.

The latest offering from Cotic is a bike that has been five years in the making. Started pre-pandemic, the bike has gone through numerous iterations that include aluminium and steel frames, internal and external batteries and full tubeset changes to arrive at the bike you see here.

A fully UK-made frame offers 150mm rear wheel travel via the Rocket’s rocklink rolls on Mullet wheels to maintain handling. The front triangle is a T45 roll cage tubing and Cotic exclusive Reynolds 853mix. The bike is designed to run either 150 or 160mm forks. Shimano’s EP801 provides 85Nm torque and 600W peak power.

The external battery comes stock at 418Wh but is easily swappable should you want to go for more range. Cotic felt a internal battery would weight too much and not feel like one of their bikes, hence the external power bank. A larger battery wasn’t deemed necessary as the team would often come back with half the power remaining.

An aluminium bike was prototyped and offered an integrated 720Wh battery. However, it didn’t ride like a Cotic and had a 25kg+ weight that made it hard to ride. As a result, it was felt that whilst an external battery isn’t en vogue, it helped Cotic stick to their design philosophy.

Complete bikes are available in Trail or Enduro options in both Gold and Platinum builds. Gold builds start at £8,799.00 with Platinum builds at £10,999.00. Frames are £6,350.00. Bikes will be delivered April 2025.

The Cotic Rocket is available in C1-5.

Reach on the C3 with a 150mm fork is 482mm with a seat tube of 435mm. Head angle is 64.5 degrees with an effective seat tube angle of 77 degrees. Chainstays are456mm with a wheelbase of 1277mm.
