The Calibre Bossnut has always been exceptional value for money but elements like a slack seat angle and short reach showed where the savings had been made. No longer. Modern geometry, dropper posts, big wheels and a future-proof frame make the new Bossnut a very attractive proposition.
Head angle drops almost a full degree on the outgoing bike to 64.5 degrees, seat angle is slacker in reality but produces an effective seat tube angle that is over 4 degrees steeper. Reach is almost 10mm longer on the M whilst the seat tube is 15mm shorter. Chainstays grow by 9mm too.
Travel jumps by 5mm on the rear to 135mm and is now paired to a 140mm fork, rolling on 29″ wheels (XS runs on 27.5″). The tubeset has been redesigned is far less boxy, whilst the forgings between them have been beefed up to withstand the rigours of riding. You also get size-specific droppers which have routing into the base of the seat tube, as the previous Bossnut came with a static post.
Geometry
The Calibre Bossnut is available in XS to XL sizes.
Reach on the M is 450mm with a seat tube of 415mm. Head angle is 64.5 degrees with an effective seat tube angle of 78 degrees. Chainstays are 445mm with a wheelbase of 1222mm.
