Whyte Launches Two eLyte EVO Models with Bosch CX Motors.

Last year, Whyte released the eLyte, a mid-power trail bike that was as fast up as it was down, and now, its EVO brethren gets more power.

A jump in power and smaller back wheel compared to the eLyte, the eLyte EVO has plenty going for it and there are two models in stock now, the eLyte EVO RS and the eLyte EVO Stag Works.

Whyte have extended their eLyte range with two models based off the popular eLyte but with a more powerful motor in the form of the Bosch Performance Line CX motor offering 85Nm torque and 600W peak power. Beyond this change, the bike comes stock as a Mullet.

You still get a carbon fibre frame offering up 142mm travel designed to be paired with a 150mm fork. Despite coming stock with mixed wheels, you can run the bike as a full 29er too. Even with the Powermore range extender, there is still room for a bottle inside the front triangle.

Designed from the get-go with motor mounts to fit both motors makes sense, and also offers Whyte the option to continue to rotate the motor to allow the battery to be lower as well, offering a far lower centre of gravity.

Whilst the eLyte EVO doesn’t break the 20kg mark, the team were keen for the spec to hold up to the rigours of modern riding, so fitted it with kit that compliments the design rather than hindering it. This is bolstered by a redesigned skid plate aimed at seeing off ground strikes as the CX motor’s lower edge sits lower than the SX.

Two models are available, the eLyte EVO RS at £7,250.00 and the eLyte EVO Stag Works at £9,999.00. The latter coming with the Powermore 250Wh range extender to boost the fitted 400Wh battery.

Geometry

The eLyte EVO is available in S, M, L and XL sizes.

Reach on the M is 456mm with a seat tube of 420mm. Head angle is 64 degrees with an effective seat tube angle of 77.3 degrees. Rear centre is 450.4 across the sizes with a wheelbase on the M of 1242.1mm.
