Atherton Bikes Launch the Red Bull Hardline Proven S.200.

You will have seen Gee Atherton ripping one of these at Red Bull Hardline Tasmania, but now the Atherton Bikes S Range has a downhill bike in the S.200.

Off the back of launching their new S.150 back in November, the latest addition to the Atherton Bikes S Range is the heavy-hitting S.200 downhill bike.

First seen at Red Bull Hardline Tasmania under the man himself, Mr. Gee Atherton, the Atherton S.200, all-alloy downhill bike is now available for us mere mortals. Like the S.170 and S.150, the S.200 is subtractive manufactured from 7075 alloy tubes and 3D printed lugs.

A DW4 suspension platform offers 200mm rear travel and is built around a Mullet wheel setup. As with all Atherton Bikes, the S.200  comes in 12 standard sizes and the combination of Atherton’s “perfect-fit” sizing. Constructed from custom drawn 7075 aluminium tubes, joined to CNC manufactured lugs using insanely strong double lap shear joints.

This method of construction allows the use of 7075 Aluminium which has a claimed 70% higher fatigue performance and 70% higher ultimate tensile strength (UTS) compared to weldable alternatives (i.e. 6061 Aluminium). As a result, the S.200 comes with a lifetime warranty.

The Atherton S.200 will be available in three builds, Build 3 starting at £4,999, rising to £6,299 for the Build 1. A frame with a DHX2 Factory shock is also available at £2,799.00.

Geometry

The Atherton S.200 comes in sizes 1 to 12.

Reach on the 6 is 460mm with a seat tube of 420mm. Head angle is 63 degrees with an effective seat tube angle of 76 degrees. Chainstays on the 6 are 450mm with a wheelbase of 1281mm
