World Cup Cross Country Riders and Teams Sign Open Letter for 5 Rider Podiums.

Rebecca Henderson and Nino Schurter have spearheaded an open letter that includes the vast majority of riders to Warner Brothers Discovery calling for a return to five rider podiums.

One of the rules WBD have planned for 2025 is to run three-rider podiums for all mountain bike World Cup racing. Today, led by XCO racing veterans Nino Schurter and Rebecca Henderson, just shy of 200 riders and several teams have written an open letter to WBD calling for a return to five rider podiums.

Started by Martin Whiteley for Cadel Evans at the 1994 Cairns World Cup XCO, mountain bike World Cups would feature five rider podiums for the next 30 odd years. WBD’s motivation is to bring the podiums consistent with other sports.
