EXT Launch The More Budget-Friendly Vecta Coil Shock.

Whilst it certainly isn’t cheap, the new EXT Vecta shock has everything you want from an EXT damper but with slightly less adjustability and higher weight to lower the cost.

EXT’s latest damper is the Vecta that maintains the high standards you would come to expect from them, but with fewer bells and whistles for a more wallet-friendly option.

Key features:

  • 3 way adjustable monotube design with high and low speed compression and rebound
  • Same valve as V4 shocks
  • Hydraulic Bottom-Out is factory-set
  • Lok 2.0 technology: separate circuit that is tunable by its own shim stack for further customization
  • Ø14 mm hard chrome-moly shaft
  • Negative spring: harder negative spring to avoid any harsh top-out
  • Improved durability thanks to a new main tube coating, assuring very high wear resistance
  • EV2S fluid, a high viscosity index fluid, and phenomenal viscosity ratio
  • Polymer spring bushings ensure alignment, prevent spring rub and minimize spring noise
  • Reservoir with large volume bladder design, inflated to 55 psi only for maximum low speed sensitivity
  • £680.00 RRP

The main differences between the EXT Vecta and it’s bigger brother the Storia V4 are many. PSR: for topout the Vecta utilizes a negative spring instead the V4 utilizes a hydraulic stop. On the Vecta, the HBC is fixed, whilst on the more expensive shock this is adjustable. A DLC-coated shaft gives way to a hard CroMo shaft and the Vecta is 80g heavier.

You still get HSC and HSR, plus LSR adjustment on the Vecta with the same valving as the other EXT V4 shocks. You also get the same Lok 2.0 found on the more expensive shocks that allows you to tune the shim stack. The hydraulic bottom out is factory set, as is the HSR.

The 14mm diameter shaft is hard CroMo that improves durability of the coating. The Vecta also features a harder negative spring that aims to remove top out. Inside the shock, EXT uses their motorsport-derived EV2S fluid for better performance.

Alignment is managed by polymer spring bushes, doing away with a rubbing or noisy spring. Finally, the reservoir sports a high volume bladder that is inflated to 55psi, ensuring low speed sensitivity.

The EXT Vecta is £680 with springs sold separately.
