Race Spec, that’s what the RS in the new Fox Rampage RS helmet means. True to this, it already has seven World Cup victories to its name. Five of these with the Santa Cruz Syndicate alone. Latest in a long line of Rampage helmets, the Rampage RS is the first pro-level full face to feature the MIPS Integra Split system, and also sports 250g less weight than its predecessor and is 5% better aerodynamically.
Beyond this, the Rampage RS has everything you’d want, and expect, from a helmet capable of winning World Cups and with an asking price of £549.99. Fox have been making Rampage helmets in carbon for twelve years and the current shell is the ultimate development of this. The channeled EPS liner helps direct air into the helmet to stop a sweaty melon.
That 2-layer EPS liner also helps absorbs impacts when you’re not just worried about keeping yourself cool. A 2-position visor will accept a POV camera for all your content needs. The Ionic+ liner and cheek pads are removeable and washable when they do start to hum.
The Rampage RS exceeds all the relevant safety tests, as well as being rated as safe for ebikes. At 980g (+/- 50g) in a size M it’s also pretty light for such a tech-leaden helmet. In the box with the helmet, you get a mud visor clip, thicker cheek pads as well as a thicker liner for more of a snug fit, as well as a spare visor bolt.
