Scottish Trail Fund raffle launched with match funding from Trek to support trail associations and local trail groups across Scotland
The Scottish Cycling Foundation (OSCR No. SC051130), in partnership with Trek and Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS), is proud to launch a fundraising raffle to support the Scottish Trail Fund – a fund dedicated to supporting community-led mountain bike trail development and maintenance projects across the country.
The top prize in the raffle is a Trek Fuel EXe 8 GX AXS T-Type, an award-winning electric mountain bike that blends the best of traditional trail riding with subtle, intelligent pedal assist. Every ticket purchased will help raise vital funds to support volunteer trail associations and local groups working hard to maintain and improve the places we ride.
To make an even bigger impact, Trek will match the raffle funds up to £5,000 – doubling the total raised, with the goal of distributing over £10,000 in direct support to grassroots trail projects.
“Scotland’s trails are world-class, and the people who build and maintain them are the unsung heroes of mountain biking,” said Jez Loftus, UK Media and PR Specialist at Trek. “We’re proud to back the Scottish Trail Fund and encourage every rider to take part – you might just win an incredible bike while helping the places you love to ride.”
The Scottish Trail Fund is a promoted fund of the Scottish Cycling Foundation, an independent charity dedicated to getting more people cycling more often.
“Trail associations and local trail groups are at the heart of Scotland’s vibrant off-road cycling scene,” said Kathy Gilchrist, Trustee of the Scottish Cycling Foundation. “This raffle is a fun and effective way to raise funds that will go directly to supporting those who give up their time to keep our trails open, safe, and sustainable.”
Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland will support the Scottish Cycling Foundation in administering the funding awards, ensuring the money goes where it can make the biggest difference.
“This is a great opportunity to give back to the trails that give us so much,” said Graeme McLean, Head of DMBinS. “We’re seeing an increasing number of passionate trail groups stepping up across Scotland, and this funding could provide the tools, materials, and support they need to keep trails running at their best.”
The raffle is open now and runs until 29th October with the draw for the winner being made at the Scottish Mountain Bike Awards, part of the Scottish MTB Gathering 2025.
Tickets for the raffle are priced at £5, and every penny raised goes towards building a stronger future for mountain bike trails in Scotland.
