About Ninety

Ninety is the latest addition to the Misspent Summers range of coffee table books for mountain bikers.

Cross-country racer, all-round two-wheel talent and Misspent Summers crew member Zoe Cuthbert took the editor role for Ninety and did a fantastic job pulling together a range of prominent voices and photographers from the XC world. Zoe put together Misspent Summers’ pilot XC print in 2024 and has built that into a complete yearbook for 2025.

Ninety’s pages are filled with reporting, images and analysis from the entire 2025 UCI XC season, including all 10 XCO and XCC World Cup races and the World Championships.

There are 196 pages of XC action, including hundreds of superb photos and beautiful design printed to the same high standards as Misspent Summers’ downhill and enduro yearbooks, Hurly Burly and The World Stage, in Wales, UK.

Ninety includes images and writing about all of cross-country mountain biking’s biggest stars, including Christopher Blevins, Martín Vidaurre, Luca Martin, Sammie Maxwell, Jenny Rissveds, Alessandra Keller. Racing reports include accounts of elite and under-23 XCO and XCC races, plus results and analysis.

In addition to the event reporting and photo galleries, other articles look at the people, places and science behind top-level racing. Interviews include Alessandra Keller, Fabio Püntner, Sammie Maxwell; elsewhere, racers put pen to paper to dissect their experiences, with contributions from Isla Short, Christopher Blevins, Bjorn Riley and Kate Courtney. In-depth analytical features discuss whether World Cup racing is becoming more competitive, the myth of power-to-weight ratio and how start position shapes XC racing.

Ethan Rose makes it onto the first-ever cross-country yearbook cover with an awesome photo by Piper Albrecht.

About Misspent Summers

Misspent Summers brings together many of mountain biking’s leading and most experienced media professionals to make high quality print and digital products. The company has been producing coffee table bike books including racing, riding and brand stories since 2016.

Photography

For a masterclass in mountain biking photography, look no further than Misspent Summers. The company counts the sport’s best photographers among its staff and contributors, including chief photographers Boris Beyer, Sebastian Schieck and Sven Martin, who have been with the company since the very first publication in 2016. We now work with a wide range of photographers and contributors, all aspiring to create the highest quality work in cycling.

Product

All Misspent Summers racing yearbooks are printed to the best standards on high-quality semi-gloss (or silk) paper – semi-gloss is preferable to ultra-glossy as it minimises light reflections and fingerprints while producing vibrant, punchy colours.

Reporting and writing

Every round of 2025 UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup and Enduro World Cup racing is covered in Hurly Burly’s and The World Stage’s detailed reports, written by dozens of expert contributors, that dissect and immortalise the season of racing. Additionally, standalone features, analysis, illustrations, and diagrams break down the standout characters, courses, and stories from the year.

Design and production

Every Misspent Summers MTB book is made with extreme attention to detail by a group of print experts with hundreds of years of combined experience. The team includes prominent industry figures who have edited and designed some of mountain biking’s most iconic media, notably Dirt Magazine.

Ninety is produced in the UK and shipped worldwide. It is available now from the Misspent Summers store.
