An over-the-air update for the Specialized Levo 4 adds between 18 and 22% peak power with torque riding too depending on model.
Specialized have released a software update that you can do at home, boosting peak power and torque. There’s more to this than just a ramp in the jazzy numbers, there’s a host of other updates that help you get more from the ride.

With your smartphone to hand, your Specialized Levo 4 can get that extra bit better. A new over-the-air update brings Levo 4 S-Works peak power up 18% to 850W whilst maintaining the 111Nm. Other models jump 22% in peak power to 810W and get a small bump in torque from 101 to 105Nm.
On top of this, you get a new Dynamic MicroTune with 1x You that puts out exactly what you put in, the aim being to maximise control when things get tricky on the climbs, and increase efficiency for either more time on the bike or more time in higher power modes.
You will also get a smoother transition to top speed rather than the somewhat abrupt cut off of power when you approach the maximum legal speed. Overrun also gets a sharper cut in to help you get over those tricky climbing sections where pedalling isn’t an option. You will also now be able to choose between three walk assist modes.
The update takes about 30 minutes to install and needs your bike/phone to not be charging and have over 20% charge. You will need to leave both bike and phone alone whilst the update is happening as any interruption will mean that you will have to start over.
Pete will be updating his Levo 4 test bike and will update you on his experience of the changes once he’s given them a good run out.
