Merida Launch the ETMO, Their Bang For Your Buck E-Bike.

The Merida ETMO takes the excellent eOne-Eighty DNA and builds and affordable, Bosch-powered, 160mm travel ebike.

Simpler manufacturing techniques help keep Merida’s new ETMO ebike in a price bracket in the realms of sensibility. Their all-alloy construction is inspired by the eOne-Eighty but with a kinematic and geometry suited for a shorter travel application.

It would be easy enough to claim that the ETMO is just an eOne-Eighty with a shorter stroke shock, but that isn’t the case. With a view to offering a price-focused ebike, Merida have used advanced castings to make the parts of the frame that usually require an extra welding process, far simpler. The downtube and motor mounts are now a single piece, as are the seat tube and top pivot. The downtube also goes on a bit of a diet thanks to the integrated battery mounts within the downtube.

Like the eOne-Eighty, the ETMO is an MX-wheeled, Bosch-powered ebike. The differences beyond the simpler construction is travel, kinematic and geometry. You get 160mm travel at both ends with either a CX or PX Bosch motor. The former putting out 100Nm and 750W peak power, the latter at 90Nm and 700W. These are fed by Powertube batteries of 540, 600 or 800Wh capacity.

Saracen Bike Sale Leader April 25
