Hello and bloody welcome from Morzine! Home of epic breaking bumps, expensive lager and Pleney smashing!
We’re out here for the next week on the annual pilgramage to visit our mates at Riders Retreat and smash out a heap of runs till our arms fall off. This week’s mission is toย hunt out some awesome international Frenchy content and film Riders Retreat a wee promo video whilst we’re at it. It’s going to be sicky wicky.
Here’s some snaps from today which was all about building bikes,ย paying too much to sneak in aย run of theย Pleney and getting aclimatised with a few beers.ย Fingers crossed things will get a bit more exciting as the week goes on!
Snap one of the day in Bristol and me and Paul eagerly await the bus to the airport. Paul is our pro-video man, elite Pleney smasher and expert bag packer. No excess baggage here. No way.
And here’s Mrs Easyjet weighing in Paul’s super light 30.9 kilo bag. Apparently it’s the absolute most you’re ever allowed on a plane or it will fall out of the sky.
Your faithful editor enjoying a last beer in the civilised world before it all turns into 10Euro Mutzigs. 10 Euro Mutzigs are what has made this update lame. Sorry.
You’ve probably been to Morzine and been on this plane before. This is not new news.
And here we are … on the road to Morzine with the super awesome Ski-lifts.com. Our driver Sarah did an excellent job. Good luck to her next week at Pot Fest, the Lake District’s number 1 pottery festival. Excellent driving and excellent ceramic knowledge.
Last but not least – here’s a snap of Paul’s ride for the week which he’s already fallen head over heels in love with and is refusing to give back. Yep, brand new Orange Patriot. It’s not a full on DH bike but it might just be the perfect all round Alps f-ck about bike. It’s lightish, it’s got plenty of travel and you can pedal it. Beauty.
So – hopefully tomorrow’s update will involve less pottery and more biking. Thanks to the following!
