A chat today about racing in Portugal got me thinking about our trips to see Brian at Ride Portugal.
Bri was a mate of a mate from back home in North Wales and we knew he was great at track building. He contacted us out of the blue in 2011 claiming to have discovered downhill gold in Lagos, Portugal. It turns out … he was right and it was amazing. We rode MTB, moto, flew in microlites, surfed … and drank plenty of the local booze.
Then, a few years later, Bri surprised us with the “Wideopen track” – a big, fast, gnarly track that was a homage to the mag. We sent the boys back out to sample it and made another video.
