While everyone else is getting filthy at Crankworx Les Get, Brendan Fairclough headed to the steeps of Champery to see what the track is like outside of a World Cup.
Boy can Brendan rip the steep stuff. Champery is a beast. Anyone who’s ridden there, be it pro or amateur alike either fears it or can’t get enough of it. The first incarnation, build by Brendan’s team manager Claudio Caluori was rough-hewn with little to catch riders, making it a nightmare if you got off line. Nowadays, there’s a bit more available to keep you on track, but we’re not sure that helps mellow the 2.5:1 average gradient.
