Neat and tidy
There’s plenty of times when you don’t need to carry loads of junk with you on a ride. Sometimes it’s enough to sling a bottle in your cage, strap an inner tube to your frame and just go for a quick blast. That could be a quick local laps, a bike park that spits you out at the car after a run, maybe even the ride to work.
The Granite Designs RockBand is a neat version of the classic frame-strap and lets you attach a tube securely to your frame.
It’s made by the guys behind the Granite Designs Hex Stand that you’ve seen here on Wideopen already.
Smart features
The RockBand wraps around your frame and neatly straps an inner tube, a Co2 canister and a multi-tool in place.
What sets it apart from the classic designs is a couple of nicely thought-out features.
First, it has a mini inner velcro strap that wraps around your inner tube and keeps it tightly held in place. That means no wrestling to keep the tube folded whilst wrapping the strap – meaning it’s easy to use and the fit is secure.
Second, there’s a grippy patch that sits against your frame and stops the RockBand from slipping around when you’re clattering through rough ground. That not only keeps everything secure but also stops your tube getting damaged from vibrations – something our man Big Dave suffered at the MegaAvalanche, ending up with a useless tube and a long walk down the mountain!
The Rock Band is 45cm long, 3.2mm wide and weighs just 23g. It’s available in black, red, blue, green and orange to match almost any frame.
