Round one of the UK Gravity Enduro Series went down this weekend at Innerleithen, in the Scottish borders.
The race was won by local pinner Katy Winton (Trek Factory Racing) and Leigh Johnson (Pole Bicycles).
This weekend’s UK Gravity Enduro race was the first of 2018 and the first ‘national’ enduro event since 2016.
The men’s race was a battle between Leigh Johnson and Ruaridh Cunningham. Ruaridh set out fastest on stages 1 and 2, but Leigh took the lead on stage 3 and held it to the line. Despite 20minutes of timed stages, Leigh was less than a second faster than Ruaridh.
The ladies race saw Katy Winton steam ahead from stage 1 and cross the line 4 minutes ahead of second place. Stage 3 alone took around 4 minutes to complete – giving you an idea of just how fast Katy was alongside the rest of the field.
