Introducing the new Trillion Shug – a short travel, steel hardtail from Scotland

Trillion Cycles have spent the last week teasing us with a brand new bike.

Today sees the lid lifted on the brand new Trillion Shug.

Announced today, the Trillion Shug is a steel, hand built mountain bike designed around a 130mm fork. It’s the second mountain bike in the Trillion family, following up on the Prime which we’ve spent some decent time on already this year.

The Trillion Shug is, like all of Trillion’s bikes, hand made in Stirling, Scotland by Shand and designed by Liberty (more on them here).

It’s made with a Reynolds 853 heat-treated steel front triangle and with Dedacciai seat and chainstays.

The bike will take 650b wheels with up to 3″ tyres or 29″ wheels up to 2.6″.

The Shug is, according to Trillion, an answer to customer requests for less full on geometry. Where the Prime is big, slack and aggro the Shug is a little more refined with a  64° head angle and 74° seat angle. It’s available in 4 sizes from small to extra large and comes with a 73mm BSA threaded bottom bracket.  A medium frame is said to weigh in at a respectable 2.1kg.

The Shug will be available as a frame and fork with a Cane Creek Helm for £1595.

You can learn more about the Trillion Shug over on Trillion’s homepage.
