Despite winning plenty of test awards around the world, the 2020 Merida eOneSixty is a complete revamp on the design.
A new six bike range with four carbon and two alloy models will greet fans of the outgoing version of the bike, the 2020 Merida eOneSixty, and with a fully revamped design, this could be the long travel eBike to beat.
You can read Jamie’s review of the 2019 Merida eOneSixty 800 eBike here.
The all-new 2020 model of Merida’s eOneSixty will start with the base model, alloy eOneSixty 500 SE and rise all the way to the all-singing, all-dancing, £9500.00 eOneSixty 10000, a carbon-framed, full XTR and Fox Factory-equipped beast.
Power is provided by Shimano’s E8000 STePs motor and provides 70Nm, with juice coming from Shimano’s compact 8035 battery.
The new eOneSixty sports a 29″ front wheel and a 27.5″ rear, designed to make the front wheel not sit into the holes, while the smaller back wheel offers a a more lively ride.
Head angle gets slackened to 65.5 degrees and you can expect a 440mm reach on the medium size. Certainly not the most ludicrous geometry ever, but if it ain’t broke…
Interestingly, the new bike has been designed around shorter 165mm cranks as opposed to the outgoing model that had been built around a 170mm crank.
Bikes are likely to be due towards October and the UK launch will be at THE EX Enduro.
