Based on Halo’s asymmetric design, aimed at improving spoke tension, the Gravitas downhill wheelset features variable wall thickness to offset the wall length and strengths. The alloy used is designed not to dent or crack under large impacts. The wheels themselves are 100% hand-built too.

A thick, square bead hook is designed to shrug off heavy impacts whilst reducing pinching on the tyre. Internal width is a relatively narrow 27.5mm, with an outer of 33mm. Rims are tubeless ready come with rim tape fitted.

The MT and MTC hubs are available in standard, Boost and Super Boost widths; available in HG, Microspline and XD drivers; come with everything from quick release to modern through axle sizes, and feature a 120 point engagement. Freehubs are Cro-Mo to avoid steel cassette carriers digging into the freehub.

All these are laced together with Halo’s own triple-butted J-bend spokes.
